About Us
The Asian American and Pacific Islander Employee Resource Group (AAPI ERG) is a strong, driven, and inclusive collective comprised of faculty and staff committed to supporting, advocating for, and advancing Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander professionals who strive to contribute to the university’s mission and vision and uphold the core values of NJIT.
Vision
The AAPI ERG envisions the advancement of an inclusive NJIT community that is bolstered by employees of Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander descent who have been empowered by connective engagement and equitable opportunities.
Mission
The NJIT AAPI ERG provides a transparent workplace environment to support and sustain leadership cultivation, civic engagement, and celebration of our differences.

The primary focus of NJIT’s AAPI ERG is to support initiatives that address the following:
- Networking, advocacy, and engagement - provides the opportunities to connect with others with similar needs, advocates for the needs and concerns of AAPI, and improves employee engagement by creating a more supportive and belonging workplace culture that recognizes the contributions of all
- Career and professional development - provides opportunities for leadership development, skill-building, networking, and helping other AAPI to advance their careers
- Community building and outreach - provides opportunities for AAPI employees to connect with others AAPI who share similar backgrounds and experiences
- Cultural awareness and events - provides opportunities to promote cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplace, educating others about AAPI culture, traditions, and experiences
