Provides the groundwork for developing new statistical methods, as well as applying existing techniques, to interpret data about the medical and life sciences.
Students in the Biostatistics Essentials Graduate Certificate Program will learn a wide range of leadership and management skills in addition to the following skills:
Statistical techniques with emphasis on applications in health-related sciences (Bayes’ theorem, basic epidemiologic tools and more).
Different sampling methods.
Statistical methods used in designing clinical trials and analyzing their data.
Modeling of time-to-event data in the presence of censoring and truncation, with emphasis on applications to the health sciences.
