Established in 1959, the Foundation at NJIT is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and serves as the fundraising arm of the university.

In connecting friends and donors with NJIT’s innovative programs, world-class faculty, and talented and hardworking students, the Foundation at NJIT advances the University’s pursuit of its mission of education, research, service, and economic development.
The Board of Directors has fiduciary responsibility for the Foundation at NJIT. The members of this governing body exercise a leadership role in promoting, marketing, and securing philanthropic support for the University, serve as a critical link between the University and the business, government, and non-profit communities, and assist NJIT in meeting its key reputational, fundraising, and research goals.
The standing committees of the Board are: Athletics, Audit & Finance, Development & Alumni Relations, Excellence in Research Prize & Medal, Joint Committee on Investments, Nominating, and Strategic Communications & Marketing.
