Invitation to Faculty Development Workshop

Join the NJIT Faculty Development Workshop, a transformative 5-day series from January 13 to 17, 2025, featuring evidence-based best practices for academic success. Open to all tenure-track, tenured, and pre-tenured faculty, the workshop includes keynote sessions by Dr. Nora Savage (NSF), interactive talks, group activities, and case study presentations. Participants can earn a certificate of completion and apply for a $500 professional development support grant.

You are invited to an engaging and transformative 5-day workshop series dedicated to exploring and sharing evidence-based best practices to enhance your academic career. This workshop, organized by the Office of Faculty Affairs, is designed for all new tenure-track faculty and university lecturers while offering valuable refreshers for tenured and pre-tenured faculty members.

Keynote Speaker:

Dr. Savage will deliver an inspiring keynote address and provide one-on-one consultations for faculty seeking guidance on submitting grants to the NSF. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and RSVP is required.

    Topics: Student Affairs Matters (Policies & Processes), Inclusive Classroom Practices, Service Opportunities and Expectations in your home department

  • January 16, 2025 (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
    Location: GITC Room 3700
    Topics: Faculty Shared Governance, HR, Lab Safety, Ethics and Compliance, Mentoring and Work-Life Balance

  • January 17, 2025 (8:30 AM - 3:00 PM)
    Location: CKB 116
    Topics: Effective Classroom Management, Communication, Mentoring and Advising

Each session will have three segments: Interactive talks, brainstorming/group activity, and case study presentations.

By participating in all relevant sessions, you’ll earn a certificate of completion and have the chance to receive a $500 professional development support grant. A concise one-page proposal will be required, and this initiative can support up to 3 faculty/lecturers.
