Breaking the mold of previous ITE workshops, this interactive session expected participants to work collaboratively in groups, answer polling questions, and participate in games.
The workshop provided participants with numerous strategies that can be used to encourage student engagement in the virtual classroom. Topics covered included:
engagement rubrics
flipped classroom
segmented lessons
student annotation
leveraging virtual backgrounds
Prizes were awarded for various activities, and participants were encouraged to download a creative virtual background (winners were chosen at the end of the event).
