Welcome! Phi Eta Sigma is a national honors society that recognizes academic excellence among first-year students.

Did you know that Phi Eta Sigma was founded in 1923, has over 1.25 million members, and awards $300,000 worth of scholarships annually through the national branch? To learn more, click here.

Interested in joining Phi Eta Sigma (PES) at NJIT? Eligible students must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled full-time during both the fall and spring semester
  • Be in your first year of undergraduate studies
  • Have a grade-point average of at least a 3.5

Students who meet the above criteria will receive an email invitation with more details, instructions, and next steps on how to formally become a member. Interested students who decide to join the organization will also be invited to participate in an induction ceremony to formally welcome them to the chapter and celebrate their academic excellence.
