Discover Wind Power Systems Operation and Maintenance at NJIT
The main goal of this program is to equip students with the essential knowledge required for the wind integration needed to deliver electricity from offshore wind farms to onshore locations. The program aims to teach students how to manage, maintain, and monitor wind farm operations using the latest inspection and data analytic technology. Students of this 12-credit Wind Power Systems Operation and Maintenance Certificate will learn a range of leadership and management skills in addition to the following skills:
- Be familiar with Regional Transmission Operator (RTO) processes through the interconnection of off-shore wind power generation systems to on-shore power grids.
- Gain experience in the technical design of different topologies of grid interconnection.
- Understand the design, operation, and maintenance of HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) transmitted wind power.
