A Message to Staff Represented by the Staff Council
In accordance with the Staff Council Bylaws, representatives who were initially appointed by their respective vice presidents will begin being replaced by elected members from within their organization. Thus, nominations, including self-nominations, will be sought for thirteen (13) upcoming vacancies; one (1) representing the Dean of Students, one (1) representing the President's Area, five (5) representing the Provost & Academic Affairs, four (4) representing the Senior Vice President for Real Estate Development and Capital Operations, one (1) representing the Vice President of Human Resources, and one (1) representing the Vice President of Development & Alumni Relations. The names of those Staff Council members whose seats are up for nomination have been bolded below. A separate email will be sent to these areas by the end of the day today to begin the nomination process.
- April 14, 2023 – Request for nominees begins (self-nomination permitted).
- April 28, 2023 – Conclusion of the nomination process. The Staff Council will collect all submitted nominations and validate nominees’ interest in participating in the election process.
- May 5, 2023 – Circulation of election ballots to the six (6) affected areas via email.
- May 19, 2023 – 12 PM Election ballot process ends.
- May 25, 2023 – New members attend the final Staff Council meeting of the academic year.
- September 1, 2023 – 2023/24 University Senate/Staff Council term begins. Elections for the Executive Board will be held at this meeting.
