You should have completed at least 15 semester hours of coursework, including an English composition class, a Mathematics class (pre-calculus is required for most majors) and other college-level courses. Remedial or developmental courses may not be sufficient to gain admission. If you have earned fewer than 30 semester hours, you may be required to submit a high school transcript. Students who have below a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average will not be admitted to a degree program.
What is the application deadline?
The application deadline is June 1 for the fall semester and November 15 for the spring semester. Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.
How do I register for classes?
After consulting with your advisor, you may register online via Highlander Pipeline. Here, you can register, view your transfer credits, degree audit, and view/pay your tuition bill.
What grade do I need to receive in order to receive transfer credit?
Generally, college-level courses completed at a regionally accredited institution will transfer to NJIT provided that grades of at least “C” (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) are earned and the course material is similar in content and scope to courses offered at NJIT.
How will I know how many of my credits will transfer and how many more credits are needed for graduation?
A preliminary transfer credit evaluation will be completed for you. This evaluation will indicate how many lower-level credits have been accepted. Transfer credits can be viewed online via Highlander Pipeline.
If you are seeking transfer credit for upper-level courses, you are encouraged to submit course syllabi and catalogs to the Office of University Admissions in advance to ensure that your evaluation is completed before you register for classes.

How many credits can I transfer?
There is not a maximum number of credits that you can transfer to NJIT however, you must earn at least 33 credits in upper-level courses approved by the department of your major to be eligible for graduation.
Can I receive an evaluation of my transfer credits before I am admitted?
Due to the large volume of transfer student applications we receive each semester, we cannot evaluate transcripts until you have been admitted to NJIT. Prior to admission, you may contact the Office of University Admissions to discuss the basic requirements involved in transferring credits. How do I receive transfer credit if I completed coursework outside of the United States?
An official World Education Services, Inc. evaluation or another approved evaluation is needed so academic departments at NJIT can evaluate the courses. Additional information regarding courses completed outside of the United States (course syllabi, course catalog, etc.) is required by academic departments in determining transfer credit. Submit course syllabi and catalogs to the Office of University Admissions in advance to ensure that your evaluation is completed before you register for classes.
What type of financial aid and scholarships are available to transfer students?
NJIT participates in both Federal and State financial aid programs. A limited number of scholarships are available to graduates of New Jersey community colleges. There are also scholarships available to students who are accepted to NJIT’s Albert Dorman Honors College. Please contact the Office of University Admissions for further details.
Does NJIT have joint admissions agreements with any community colleges?
