Transition, Engagement, Access, & Mentorship (T.E.A.M.) was developed to provide guidance and support for students with the overall goal of retention, persistence, and graduation. This is realized through an affirming, learning-centered environment where students are equipped with information, motivation, and the agency needed to attain their academic and career goals.
T.E.A.M. Goals:
Connect students to resources internal and external to NJIT
Improve engagement/Involvement in the NJIT community
Provide academic support and guidance
Create opportunities for career exploration & professional development
Promote the holistic development and wellness of students
How will we accomplish these goals?
T.E.A.M. will achieve these goals through strategic partnerships with various Student Affairs and Academic units, connecting students to peer/faculty/professional mentors, implementing a success coaching model of advisement, and by hosting various programs and workshops focused on topics designed to equip students with the skills to be successful at NJIT and beyond i.e. study skills, time/stress management, diversity topics/issues, healthy relationships, etc.
