How long does the program last for?
The program lasts for the entire spring semester.
Is the program open to anyone on academic probation?
Unfortunately, no. At the moment, the program is designed for first time first year students only.
What are the requirements of the program?
There are 5 steps that go along with the program. For more information regarding the steps, please attend one of the initial meetings in the spring semester. If you are on academic probation, you will recieve an email with a link to attend an Initial Meeting.
What are the benefits of participating in the program?
Students who participate in the program learn effective skills in time management, study skills, and test anxiety. Recent data has shown that students in the program increase their gpa overall compared to those not attending.
Tips for Academic Success for Upper Classmen:
- Create your study schedule during the first week of classes. Revisit your schedule each week to prioritize where your time needs to go.
- Fit in time to attend tutoring center hours throughout the week, especially in the courses you are struggling in from day one.
- Attend professor office hours - connecting with your professors will make a difference in your grade and perhaps your future research and job connections.
- Do all your homework and start study groups.
