Criteria for the Excellence in Research Prize and Medal
A sustained record of research sponsorship, appropriate to discipline:
Evaluation to extend over a period of at least 5 years at NJIT
Funding from multiple sources, at least some of which involve peer-review processes
A sustained record of scholarly activity:
Evaluation to extend over a period of at least 5 years at NJIT
Including peer-reviewed journal articles, patents and related accomplishments
Other evidence of successful contribution, including identification of students and theses/dissertations that have received awards, and students that have achieved career success
Research contributions that are nationally and internationally recognized:
Evaluation to extend over a period of at least 5 years at NJIT
Widely-cited publications, success in technology transfer, or patents that lead to noteworthy products
External letters of support from recognized leaders in the research field(s)
National/international acknowledgment (e.g., through awards, prizes, and appointments)
