The CARE Team is a multi-disciplinary, collaborative campus committee that works together to promote a safe, supportive campus environment.
About the CARE Team
Goals of the CARE Team
- Support the success of all students
- Offer assistance to students with referrals to campus and community resources.
- Assist in protecting the student's health, safety and wellbeing and that of the NJIT community.
- Develop an action plan with the students and provide a comprehensive response to help avert more serious difficulties.
What Processes do the CARE Team Members use?
There are four basic elements involved in the Care Team Model.
- INTERVENTION, usually a physical presence designed to prevent an action or alter a condition.
- Physical or emotional SUPPORT of a person in distress.
- ASSESSMENT of a situation or employing the use of colleagues and providers able to render an assessment of the situation.
- Developing a plan of ACTION or follow-up.

- Residence Life
- Student Life (Fraternity & Sorority Life, Diversity & Inclusion, Food Pantry)
- NJIT Public Safety
- Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (C-CAPS)
