NJIT Support Services
The Office of the Dean of Students creates opportunities to engage and support students, both in and outside of the classroom, through general advising, advocacy, special programs, problem-solving, and implementation of the Code of Student Conduct and policies under Title IX. Students seeking absence verification or who wish to report academic integrity, bias, student conduct, Title IX and sexual misconduct, and other concerning or threatening student behavior may do so online.
The NJIT CARE Team is a campus resource led by the Office of the Dean of Students dedicated to assisting students who may be in distress or experiencing challenging life circumstances. If you or a peer is in distress, please submit a report which can be anonymous.
NJIT also ensures the protection and equal treatment of pregnant students and students with pregnancy-related conditions. Students are encouraged to contact the Title IX Coordinator to discuss reasonable modifications.
The Office of Prevention & Advocacy is committed to the eradication of dating and sexual violence by providing confidential support, educational programming, and centering survivor autonomy at NJIT.
The Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (C-CAPS) provides high-quality, confidential, culturally sensitive mental health services that help students with the transitions and stresses of college life and more serious psychological concerns or crises. Staffed by psychologists, professional counselors, and social workers, C-CAPS' services include individual counseling and psychotherapy for a wide range of concerns such as academic, personal, and family concerns, addictions, interpersonal difficulties, trauma, career concerns, a variety of counseling/psychotherapy groups (drop-in and therapy groups), and limited psychiatry services.
Campus Health & Wellness Services offers efficient, high-quality health care for all NJIT students, faculty, and staff. Services include access to CityMD Urgent Care, located on the first floor of Maple Hall, and the Center for Peer Wellness Coaching, located at the corner of Warren Street and Colden Street (behind NJIT's Smashburger).

Students have unlimited access to the Mantra Health Care Hub, an all-in-one digital platform for student mental health and wellness needs. Services include self-care, peer support, professional coaching, 24/7 crisis, and specialty care. Enrolled students also have access to 12 telehealth therapy sessions annually with an experienced provider.
Enrolled NJIT students also have access to UWill for unlimited ½ hour telehealth therapy services, and crisis services including evenings and weekends at no cost.
TAO by Uplift is a suite of online tools for life skills education, well-being, resilience, and behavioral health, with content available 24 hours a day. TAO allows students to learn new skills, develop coping strategies, and deal with mental health-related struggles in their own time and at their own pace in total privacy.
Peer Wellness Coaching supports students' optimal well-being by empowering them to make decisions, set goals, and take action to experience a satisfying life balance. Services are provided by specially trained student coaches under the supervision of the Center for Counseling & Psychological Services and Campus Health and Wellness Services. Peer Wellness Coaching is not a substitute for professional counseling or health services.
CampusWell is an online health and wellness magazine that provides college students the latest health and wellness updates. This monthly, interactive online resource covers topics to help, such as nutrition and exercise, reducing stress, and the secrets to academic success.
Financial Wellness
The Office of Student Persistence provides a professional, friendly, and safe environment for students to express concerns and receive support. The office strives to identify and assist in resolving hardship-related issues that may impede or impact students' ability to register for classes and complete their degrees.
The NJIT Highlander House is open to all NJIT community members who may have trouble affording or accessing a healthy diet. The Pantry is located on the 4th floor of the Campus Center in room 480. Students with a valid NJIT ID are welcome to visit the pantry twice weekly. Email foodpantry@njit.edu or waff@njit.edu in order to have access to make appointments online!
Students experiencing an emergency situation and needing financial assistance are invited to submit a request to the Highlander Emergency Fund. Approved students may be issued up to a maximum of $500 annually.
NJIT will assist students with unforeseen financial situations by providing payment plans or financial counseling. The Hardship Committee is composed of administrators from the offices of Finance, Financial Aid, Dean of Students, Academic Affairs, and the Bursar. This committee reviews all applications submitted and decides to accept or reject the appeal as submitted. Click here to learn more or to submit an application.
