Getting to campus from Newark International Airport (in New Jersey)

Newark Liberty International Airport

The Newark International Airport is located five miles from the NJIT campus. A minibus (Newark Airlink) or taxi service connects the airport with Penn Station in Newark. Bus, city subway and taxi connections may be obtained at the station. Seek taxi service from the designated taxi dispatch area.  Do not accept a ride from any other sections of the airport.  You can expect the trip to NJIT to cost approximately USD 25 from Newark International Airport.

Train service (NJ Transit) is available directly from Newark Liberty International Airport to Newark Penn Station. Follow signs to Air Train to go to Newark Airport Train Station. The staff at the train station will help you buy your ticket and direct you to the correct train track. From Newark Airport Train Station get off at Newark Penn Station.

Once you reach Newark Penn Station, you can either walk (about 20 minutes), take a taxi, or transfer to the Newark Light Rail (to Grove Street) and get off at the third stop at Warren Street/NJIT.

Getting to campus from John F. Kennedy International Airport (in New York)

JFK International Airport

Seek taxi service from the designated taxi dispatch area.  Do not accept a ride from any other sections of the airport.  It is very important that you ask the driver approximately how much the trip will cost before you get into the taxi. (CAUTION:  sometimes drivers take advantage of unsuspecting people.)  You can expect the trip to NJIT to cost approximately USD 150-250 from JFK.  Tell the driver you want to be taken to 154 Summit Street in Newark (NJIT's Office of Public Safety) or the address where you will be staying.
