First year students are organized by their college to help develop a sense of community. 

About Learning Communities

Each of the five academic colleges provide exceptional resources and opportunities for students to learn, grow, and develop their skill sets. Students in each college share unique experiences based on the classes, faculty, advisors, and events that are curated just for them. Newark College of Engineering - NCE

This LC cohort is comprised of the various engineering programs at NJIT. Majors include: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, General Engineering, and the School of Applied Engineering Technology.

Ying Wu College of Computing - YWCC

This LC cohort is comprised of the various computing programs at NJIT. Majors include: Business & Information Systems, Computer Science, Computing & Business, Data Science, Human Computer Interaction, Information Systesm, Information Technology, and Web & Information Systems.
