Pipe Cleaner Challenge

Hillside's Hurden-Looker Girls Rock Science club members compete with each other to build the tallest free-standing tower using 15 pipe cleaners.

Parachute Challenge

Hillside's Hurden-Looker and Washington Girls Rock Science clubs design and test their parachutes to learn about gravity and air resistance.

Snap Circuit Challenge

Hillside's Washington Girls Rock Science club members and Morris Plains students try their hand at constructing circuits using snap circuit boards.

Cardboard Challenge

Hillside's Hurden-Looker Girls Rock Science club members try out their designs for the Global Cardboard Challenge. The challenge aims to raise a new generation of innovators by encouraging them to use their creativity and design something new.

Balloon Powered Car Challenge

Hillside's Washington Girls Rock Science club members work in teams in order to design their own balloon powered cars.

Catapult Challenge

Morris Plains students build catapults and launch various items to see whose catapult can launch the farthest.

Engineering Challenge

Morris Plains students flex their engineering skills by trying to balance heavy books using only one sheet of paper and 5cm of tape. 

Bow Tower Challenge

Morris Plains students construct towers using bows and try to keep them from toppling over.

Balloon Boat Challenge

Weehawken students test out their balloon boat designs by racing them against each other.
