GETTING INVOLVED AT NJIT
Student Life offers to many things to do, it’s hard to choose! NJIT has over 140+ student organizations, who host regular events for the campus community.
Student Life is also home to NJIT's fraternity and sorority life, organizations, programs and events that promote diversity and inclusion, resources to support our commuter student needs, and coordinate the campus Food Pantry. Get involved as soon as you become a Highlander and meet other students who will become life-long friends!
The Highlander Hub is your go-to for information on all organizations and campus events.
Love watching sports? NJIT has 19 varsity teams that compete at the NCAA Division I level. There is something for everyone so be sure to come out and support your friends. Go Highlanders!
Interested in playing sports for fun? We have intramural and club teams on campus, where you can play sports like basketball, ping pong, ice hockey, ultimate frisbee and more! The Intramural Sports program provides a even playing field for amateur athletes and promotes an environment where sportsmanship, safety and fun take a higher priority over winning and losing.
The WEC (Wellness and Events Center) is an iconic, state-of-the-art and multipurpose building that provides large-scale space for professional conferencing, training and career fairs, as well as social settings for NJIT students, faculty and staff. Our D1 athletes practice and compete here, so come support your friends and fellow Highlanders. The WEC is a great place for all NJIT students to use the indoor running track, a six-lane pool, a fitness center, racquetball and squash courts, tennis courts, and a volleyball court.
If you were offered Work Study in your financial aid package, get paid while building your resume! To earn work study money, you must work a job that is designated as work-study approved. (This is likely on campus but can also be through a pre-approved off campus community service.) The earned money is paid directly to you, for use with school or personal needs. Be sure to check and apply on Cornerstone for approved work study job opportunities as soon as you accept the work study portion of your financial aid package. In order to apply for a position in Cornerstone, NJIT students must log in via my.njit.edu and must use NJIT UCID to log-in. After logging in, click on the Student Services Tab; under Online Resources, click on On-Campus Employment.
Parents and families are integral in helping their student succeed! Please check our dedicated pages with an abundance of information especially for you, as well as specific information to help guide and support your student as they navigate college-life and NJIT.
