About Us

In 2019, the Office of Student Persistence was created to benefit the NJIT community. We recognize there are times in a student’s academic career where additional support and specialized individual assistance is required.

The Office of Student Persistence pledges to provide a professional, friendly and safe environment to address whatever those individual needs may be. We strive to identify and assist in resolving key issues that may impede and/or impact the ability to complete one’s degree.​

NJIT’s greatest strength is our students; we are committed to provide a premier higher educational experience to ensure your individual success. The Office of Student Persistence welcomes opportunities to create relationships with our community and highlight the academic, personal and social resources available to all NJIT students to cultivate student success.

The Office of Student Persistence works closely with:

  • The Office of Admissions
  • The Office of Financial Aid Services
  • The Office of the Registrar
  • Individual Academic Departments Advisors, Faculty and Administrators
  • All University Administrative Departments, such as the Office of the Bursar, Dean of Students & Campus Life, Health Services, Office of Global Initiatives, Residence Life and Office of Academic Advising.

  • Financial Aid processes and packages, including SAP, securing private loans and cross-enrollment for full advantage of financial aid disbursement
  • Timely course registration and availability of necessary courses to stay on track for graduation
  • Hardship Appeal process
  • Verification of Presence, and subsequent effects on Financial Aid
  • Those who wish to return to their studies after time away from NJIT
  • The successful transfer of credits and/or cross-registration process
  • Not knowing who to contact with an issue or about a process
