Your Path to Graduation
We all care and want to see you succeed.
As a new student (whether freshman, transfer or graduate), it’s important to know what your curriculum requirements are and make sure you stay on track taking the courses you need when they are offered. In addition to regular meetings with your advisor and checking your Degree Works, be sure to know important dates and deadlines, academic opportunities both in and out of the classroom and make sure to ask questions - ESPECIALLY if you aren’t sure of something! We are here to support you but you need to reach out. Be sure to create a relationship (or two or three!) with people on campus whether it is your advisor, residence hall director or financial aid counselor. We all care and want to see you succeed.
Important Dates & Deadlines:
- Academic Calendar (by semester)
- Priority Registration Calendar
- Bursar Calendar (critical payment deadlines)
Once the course schedule is available, be sure to create your schedule and register as soon as possible for the best selection.
Did you know that NJIT students can take classes at Rutgers, right across the street?
Thinking of taking a winter or summer class to get caught up or stay on track? We have a large course offering for winter and summer sessions. If you need to take a class elsewhere, be sure to fill out the appropriate form and send the transcript as soon as the course is complete.
If you are thinking about changing your major or declaring a minor, look into it as soon as you might be interested so you stay on track for graduation. It might be helpful to speak with your advisor or someone in the potential major or minor you are considering. It's important to make an informed decision and possibly get answers to questions such as: What are some career benefits of this major or minor? Would extra courses be required for graduation? How does what I took already work with the requirements? When are courses offered and how soon might I be eligible to graduate?
Review your Degree Works regularly and make sure you are track for graduation.
