Study Abroad Application Process
The Office Study Abroad is your one-stop shop for all study abroad questions.
The Office of Global Initiatives (OGI) is your one-stop shop for all study abroad questions. Students who wish to study abroad must follow these steps to ensure they are selecting a program that fits their needs.

Download the Study Abroad Application, complete all sections, and email it to studyabroad@njit.edu.
NJIT STUDY ABROAD APPLICATION STEPS
Meet With Academic Advisor
- After deciding on your program and courses, meet with your academic advisor to get course approval
- Note that each equivalent class requires approval from respective departments (Math department for a math class)
Meet with Dean of Students Office
- Have the Dean of Students Office sign your application, confirming that you are in good academic standing and have no disciplinary action being taken against you.
Meet With Financial Aid
- Bring the estimated cost of the program to your financial aid advisor, and discuss the total cost of the trip including what aid and scholarships can be applied.
- After deciding on your program and courses, meet with your academic advisor to get course approval

Next Steps:
A study abroad adviser will review your application and inform you of your next steps. If you are approved to study abroad, you can begin the final application for the program of your choice.

Please note that all students are required to submit a separate, program-specific application based on the program of choice. NJIT’s Study Abroad Application gives you clearance to apply to a program.
