STARS
NJIT has begun tracking, managing, and sharing its sustainability efforts through the The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System
The STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System), a program of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), is used by higher education institutions worldwide to measure their sustainability progress.
STARS ensures colleges and universities:
- Can monitor their improvement over time through a standardized set of measurements created through extensive collaboration with the sustainability community
- Build a stronger sustainable community through exchange of information on sustainability practices
- Gain recognition for meeting sustainability milestones
NJIT submitted its first STARS report in February 2023 and earned a silver rating.
