An NJIT officer or employee or a special NJIT officer or employee shall not exercise authority, supervision, or control with regard to personnel actions over a relative of the officer or employee.
A relative of an appointed member of an NJIT governing or advisory body shall not be employed at NJIT during the course of the member's appointment.
Relative is defined to mean an individual's spouse or domestic partner, or the individual's or spouse's parent, child, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, grandparent, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepparent, stepchild, stepbrother, stepsister, half brother or half-sister, whether the relative is related to the individual or the individual's spouse by blood, marriage or adoption.
This restriction also applies to individuals involved in dating relationships and non-related individuals who share the same household with the officer or employee.
