Undergraduate Student Advisory Council
About The Council:
The NJIT Undergraduate Student Advisory Council is a collaborative initiative between the Provost and the Dean of Students. This council provides a forum for enthusiastic undergraduates to have informal conversations with the Provost and the Dean of Students, helping to keep NJIT leadership informed, in real time, about the student experience. Through these conversations, council members will help improve the student experience for all NJIT students.
Who We Are:
We take pride in our diverse and inclusive membership. We aim to include students from each of NJIT's six colleges, representing all academic years, and reflecting the vibrant diversity of our campus community. The council typically consists of 15-20 members who serve for a term of 2 years or until they graduate, whichever comes first.
Meetings and Time Commitment:
Our monthly meetings are held during the academic year, for 1.5 hours each, and provide a platform for meaningful discussions. Attendees include the Provost, Dean of Students, Provost's Chief of Staff, and other staff members, based on the meeting topic. To enhance inclusivity, we will also offer a virtual meeting option. Meeting dates and times are to be determined.
Council members also have opportunities to participate in various events and activities to represent the council and share the student perspective, ensuring a well-rounded engagement experience.
