Biological Waste Management
NJIT's Biological Waste Program provides a framework to ensure regulated medical waste (also referred to as biological waste) generated, stored, transported, collected, transferred, treated, destroyed, and disposed of is manipulated in a responsible manner that protects the NJIT community, the general public, and the environment from inadvertent biological exposure/release while complying with the New Jersey Regulated Medical Waste Standard (N.J.A.C. 7:26-3A.6) and the New Jersey Comprehensive Regulated Medical Waste Management Act (N.J.S.A. 13:1E-48.1 et seq).
