Packages that are not picked up from the lockers within 7 days of notice will be taken from the lockers and returned to the mailroom for pickup at that location.
Packages that are not picked up from the mailroom within 30 days will be considered to be abandoned and will be processed as follows:
o If it can be returned to sender from the mailroom (carrier pickups only) at no cost, the mailroom will attempt to do so.
o If there is a cost (or special procedure) to return the package, the mailroom will hold it until the end of the semester. At that time, the package will be opened and either disposed of, or donated to a local charity.
Under no circumstances will the mailroom or NJIT reimburse the recipient or shipper for any abandoned packages that are discarded or donated.
