*First Time, First Year Residents MUST check-in during their assigned date/time or from 7-9pm during Unscheduled Arrivals.  Returning Residents, Transfers & Graduate students may move in on any of the dates/times listed.   Students that arrive earlier than their assigned move in date/time will be charged a $100 per day unscheduled arrival fee.

Early arrivals are not permitted.  Please plan your arrival based on the dates listed.  

All First Year International & Out of State students who will be attending NSO 1.0 on August 26, 2025 may check in early on August 25, 2025 from 12pm-4pm in their assigned building office.  You do not need to contact the Residence Life Office for an early arrival.  We will add your name to our early arrival list automatically.  If you already attended NSO 1.0 over the summer months you do not check in early on August 25, 2025.  

Hall meetings will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 8pm-9pm for first year students and all residents have floor meetings on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.  

Students may submit their vaccination information via the Health Services Portal.  Visit Student Health Service for more information.  You will not be able to move in unless all of your documentation is uploaded and approved by Student Health Services.

Student meal plans will be activated for use on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at dinner for use on the students NJIT ID.  If you have an earlier arrival time on August 27th, please make plans as dining is not provided.  For additional information regarding Dining, please contact Gourmet Dining. 

Moving bins will be available.  Please note that we do not have enough bins to accommodate every student moving in.  We suggest that you bring carts and dollies from home to assist you.

In order for us to prepare the buildings for Fall 2025 move-in residents currently living on campus for the summer or who are an approved early arrival you may not sign in guests from August 12, at 8:00am through August 29, at 8:00am.  No guests does not pertain to family and friends that are assisting you with your move-in process on the day that you are scheduled to check in.  

Residents (except Maple Hall) receive mail and packages via a package locker system in the Campus Center (1st floor), across from the Amazon Lockers.  Details are posted HERE.

  • Cypress & Redwood halls may park along Bleeker Street - Cypress/Redwood Car Dashboard Card
  • Laurel & Oak halls may park along Summit Street or utilize the adjacent parking garage. If the gate is closed, simply press the red call button and inform Public Safety you are moving into the residence hall. - Laurel/Oak Car Dashboard Card
  • Greek Village & Honors Hall residents may utilize Greek Way and Colden Streets. Students may not park along Warren Street unless they opt to pay for metered parking - Greek Village/Honors Car Dashboard Card
  • Maple Hall unloading will occur in the Maple Hall parking deck and surrounding roads of the building - Maple Hall Car Dashboard Card 

When you arrive you will place all of your items on the walkway, the student will go into their building to check-in while one person will remain with the belongings.  Once your belongings are unloaded you will move your vehicle to the Science & Technology Parking Garage (STPG), located at 42 Wilsey Street, Newark, NJ 07103.
