Summer 2024 Maple Hall Information

Policies and Procedures are enforced and followed by all residents regardless of the term. Please be certain to review all policies and procedures.

Renters Insurance: Residents are strongly encouraged to have renters insurance for the property that they keep in their rooms. Please check to see if your family's homeowner's insurance will cover your belongings in your residence hall room. You may also contact Gallagher & Co. or National Student Services, Inc. for renters insurance.

Wi-Fi Access: Maple Hall uses Lux Speed ISP for their WiFi service; different from regular NJIT WiFi.  Lux Speed ISP is only accessible while in Maple Hall. You’ll be sent a ‘Welcome Email’ to your NJIT email address you used for your summer housing application. If you do not receive or see the email from Lux Speed regarding your Wi-Fi credentials, please contact them directly at support@luxspeed.io and provide them with your NJIT email.

Maple Hall Work Order System: Here is the link to the Maple Hall Work Order system. Please note this is separate from the SchoolDude Work Order System used everywhere else on campus. This work order site is easy to use with your email address. Your suite number and room will be linked to your email and the dropdown menu makes putting in requests quick and easy. The maintenance team is on site Monday- Friday 7:30AM-5:00PM for the summer. Please note the earliest maintenance will enter your space is 8:30AM unless it is for an emergency 

Parking: There are three options for parking at Maple Hall. 

  • Street parking on Warren Street [take note of alternate side street parking!]

  • Science and Technology Parking Garage, 42 Wilsey Street, Newark, NJ 07103 (adjacent to Maple Hall) 

  • Maple Hall parking garage (Your ID is what opens access to the Maple garage. Spaces are limited within the garage, first come, first served!)  Hang tags are not required in any parking deck during the summer.

Guest Sign-In: Upon entering Maple Hall, you can sign-in your guest [with state ID/ license, military ID, green card or passport] with the safety officer located at the front desk. Hosts must stay with their guests and abide by ALL NJIT Residence Life policy and guidelines via the Living on Campus Guide.

Packages/Mail: Maple Hall utilizes Luxer One mail lockers for package access. Look out for an email from them and sign up for easy access. When your package arrives and is logged into the locker system, Luxer One will email or text you an access code + remainders for pick-up. Perishable items such as Amazon Fresh, HelloFresh, etc. are also logged into this system with a timer for pickup.

Lock Outs:  If you find yourself locked out Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM, please visit the Maple Hall Office [near the mail lockers] for assistance. After office hours/ University closings, please visit the Maple Hall front desk and ask the officer to contact the RA on duty to assist you.

Amenities:

  • Club Room with full kitchen access (1st floor)

  • Gaming Room with large screen TVs and Port access for console plug-and-play (1st floor)

  • Indoor lounges located on each floor with study spaces for small group or solo study

  • Laundry rooms on each floor, serviced by Caldwell & Gregory, with instructions for washer and dryer use + Speed Queen app use and payment [coin option as well]

2nd floor terrace with fire pit and grill/ kitchen area is open daily from 10AM-11PM [We do not recommend accessing during inclement weather or in extreme heat conditions]
